Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I’m from the border of New Rochelle and Scarsdale and have now lived in New Rochelle with my family for over 7 years.
Child(ren) and Age(s)?
Twin girls, turning 8 in January
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I was a “picky” eater as a child, which is somewhat ironic considering that now I am a culinary nutritionist and help families with meal prep, getting healthy and delicious meals on their tables, and manage their own selective eaters.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
I would have to say my network of mom friends. There’s nothing more helpful than knowing you’re not alone and having friends who you can go to in a time of need or simply to talk through issues and parenting struggles. I’m lucky and grateful to have made some amazing friends since moving up to Westchester.
Favorite things to do with your kids?
So many things! I’d say my top three are (1) cooking with my them (even though it can be messy!), (2) watching movies with them (especially older ones that I loved as a kid), and (3) singing and dancing to pop music!
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
Yes! I am a registered dietitian nutritionist and run my own company, Jessica Levinson, MS, RDN, CDN. Locally I offer Kitchen Coaching services, which include healthy kitchen & pantry makeovers, healthy grocery shopping trips, family meal planning, and cooking lessons. I am also a food and nutrition communications consultant, brand spokesperson, author, and recipe developer.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
A lot of my work time is spent on social media, where I engage with people from all over the world. But I absolutely love connecting with people locally who I can meet with in person and make a real difference in their day-to-day lives feeding their families.
