The groundwork for successful experiences in the education system is largely established before Kindergarten even starts.
At Community Synagogue, we believe the purpose of an early childhood program is to provide a sensory rich environment where children feel safe to explore, experiment and ask questions. We offer children technology free experiences that feed their senses and support mindfulness for themselves and the world around them. Communication and language are crucial to a child’s education and are key in supporting early literacy. Equally important to our program is the development of social and emotional skills and the understanding of kindness, empathy and community. Universal human values are woven into our curriculum in ways that can be appreciated and understood by young children. Our goal is to provide a strong foundation that the children and their families can carry with them to elementary school and beyond.

INSPIRING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE. DEVELOPING GLOBAL CITIZENS. OPENING A WORLD OF OPPORTUNITIES.
Established in 1980, German International School New York, an independent Pre-K (age 3) through Grade 12 college preparatory program, offers German-English bilingual education with an emphasis in the sciences and arts. GISNY’s Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs offer three- to six-year old children a bright, spacious, and nurturing environment, where they are encouraged to embrace discovery both in- and outdoors! This fall we have introduced our new Nature-Based Early Childhood Educational (NBECE) Program for our students in Pre-K and Kindergarten, allowing our students to enjoy most of their school day outdoors on our beautiful 20 acres campus. Children entering our Pre-K or Kindergarten programs are not required to speak or understand German and will build the foundation of being bilingual by first grade. All nationalities are welcome!

When young learners see education as a place to experiment, create, construct, and connect, they develop a more expansive mindset about what school can offer them. They experience education as a path of discovery, understanding, wonder, and joy. These ideas are grounded in the Reggio-Emilia inspired, project-based philosophy practiced at King School. They encourage PreKindergarten and Kindergarten learners to collaboratively explore intentionally created vibrant classroom spaces where children are actively engaged in the process of learning from the earliest ages.
